How do I install Fabric mods? Complete beginner here

Hey everyone, I'm totally new to modding. I've been playing vanilla for years but want to try mods now.

I keep seeing people mention Fabric and Forge but I'm confused about which one to use and how to actually install mods.

Can someone give me a simple step-by-step? I'm on Windows 11.

Thanks in advance!
